CHAPTER 5: MORE TONIC EXPANSIONS
5.1 Introduction


This chapter will increase your repertoire of tonic expansions with four of the more common ones. Building on the 6/4 expansions already covered in Chapter 3, pages 5.2 through 5.4 will cover passing vii°6 and neighboring V6 expansions. These will be derived linearly--that is from nonharmonic tones. Then pages 5.5 and 5.6 will present the triads IV and vi as chord insertions.
