Did you know if you just play the black keys on the piano you are automatically playing music in a pentatonic scale? Pretty cool! What's even cooler is that the well known hymn "Amazing Grace" is a pentatonic tune. I took advantage of these two musical tidbits, and arranged "Amazing Grace" for the First Pieces Level, to be played before students play on the white keys, before they see staff lines, and before they learn letter names.
