Camptown Races

Stephen Foster wrote this bouncy tune in 1850. Foster is sometimes called the “father of American music” — he also wrote “Oh! Susanna” and “My Old Kentucky Home.” The catchy “doo-dah” refrain is probably why it's still stuck in people's heads more than 170 years later.
