Chances are you already know this tune, even if you never knew its name. “Chopsticks” was written all the way back in 1877 by a 16-year-old British girl named Euphemia Allen, who published it under a fancy fake name, Arthur de Lulli. The title has nothing to do with the eating utensils — it's about the chopping hand motion used to play it. It's been a favorite for kids messing around at the piano ever since, lesson or no lesson.
