Billy Boy

Poor Billy! Hopelessly in love with a young girl who is not ready to leave home. (I changed the words "young thing" in this song to the less offensive "young girl") The first half of this piece, the theme, is a rather easy first experience in G position. The only unusual thing is finger 2 crossing over the thumb. The variation is the same except for a light right hand accompaniment and some more challenging finger crossing. So what I am giving you is really two pieces in one. Each half works well as a stand alone piece and students can play just the first half, just the second half or both together depending on their skill level. As such "Billy Boy" will be a valuable addition to a beginner's repertoire.
