Chopsticks

Here's a fun fact: the most famous simple piano tune in the world was written by a 16-year-old. In 1877, an English teenager named Euphemia Allen published it under the pen name “Arthur de Lulli” and called it “The Celebrated Chop Waltz.” The nickname “Chopsticks” comes from her own instructions--she wanted both hands turned sideways, little fingers down, chopping at the keys like a pair of cleavers. It was the only piece she ever published, and yet nearly a century and a half later, it's still the tune practically every kid picks out on a piano for the first time.
