Rock of Ages/Ma'oz Tsur

The Jewish “Rock of Ages” (Ma’oz Tsur) is a hymn often sung after lighting the Hanukkah candles. The hymn recalls the many times when Jewish communities were saved from the peoples around them. Only the fifth stanza tells of the Maccabean victory that is commemorated by Hanukkah.
